Located on the corner of Lygon and Faraday Streets, within the historic King & Godfree building, Delmonte is built around wood-fired, produce-led cooking, wine and generous hospitality.

It draws on the warmth and familiarity of classic European dining rooms, with the energy of the kitchen and bar at its heart. Delmonte extends onto streets with al fresco dining, bringing the energy out onto one of Carlton’s most iconic corners.

The menu is rooted in the traditions of Italy and the Mediterranean, moving from oysters, focaccia, salumi and crudo through to handmade pasta, whole grilled fish, prawns, pork costoletta and premium cuts from Donati’s, with celebration cakes from Pidapipo. Familiar dishes sit alongside more contemporary ideas, with seasonal produce, bold flavours and generous cooking at the core.

The wine list is Italian at heart, with a focus on small, independent and organic producers alongside established names and classic regions. Piedmont is a particular focus, complemented by mature and rare bottles from the historic King & Godfree cellar, some dating back to the 1950s.

Music is celebrated as much as food and wine. Local selectors play exclusively on vinyl through a custom-built high-fidelity sound system, with a soundtrack spanning soul, jazz, bossa nova, R&B, boogie, laid-back disco and Balearic sounds.

Delmonte is a place to eat and drink at any pace, for any occasion — a wine room, restaurant and neighbourhood meeting place in the heart of Melbourne’s Little Italy.
